Abstract

We have selected a sample of O-star binaries that display a substancial EINSTEIN X-ray excess luminosity. This excess X-ray emission is usually considered to be an indication of a colliding wind phenomenon and these systems are therefore good candidates to search for the signature of such an interaction at other wavelengths. In this contribution, we discuss the results of our optical monitoring of two particular binary systems: HDE 228766 (O7.5 + O5.5) and HD 93403 (O5.5I + O7V).
